Estonian painters: journey to the fount of wisdom

02.11.2006 - 03.12.2006

The exhibit, at Tapiola Church, features the work of 14 artists: Olav Maran, Peeter Mudist, Nikolai Kormašov, Jüri Arrak, Eva Jänes, Uno Roosvalt, Leili Muuga, Lola Liivat, Kristiina Kaasik, Tiiu Pallo-Vaik, Jaan Elken, Tiit Pääsuke, Mo Kreegi and Kreg A. Kristring. The cohesive element here is, either directly or indirectly, religiosity. All of the works deal in some manner with a yearning for a path to transcendence and communion with God. The exhibit is part of the programme of the cultural forum, which is taking place in the Helsinki University of Technology's Dipoli from 30 November to 2 December on the theme of "Religions and Cultures - From Confrontation to Genuine Dialogue". A selection of Estonian graphic art will also be displayed during the conference.
