BLACK AND WHITE THEATRE FESTIVAL
Pip Utton
ADOLF
One-man play
Translator Hannes Villemson
Producer Ervin Õunapuu
Played by Indrek Taalmaa
This provocative one-man play by playwright-actor Pip Utton emerged a few years ago as one of the biggest surprises and hits at the Edinburgh Theatre Festival. As known, the Estonian audience enjoyed the presentation by Pip Utton in 2000 at the Baltoscandal Theatre Festival.
As the title hints Adolf Hitler himself will appear before the audience in this play. However, one should definitely not look for historic authenticity here. The main postulates of der Führer's ideology such as ethnic and minority issues, the limits of tolerance, manipulation techniques will be analysed from today's point of view.
Premiere was on 10 September 2005 in Püssirohukelder (Gun Powder Cellar)
