Extraordinary Kihnu - photo exhibition from May, 18th – June, 30th 2006

Photographer Jaan Rõõmus has taken photos at the Kihnu island since 1972.

He went there occasionally and the result of all this was that the island with its simple nature  and nice people became the main object of his photographing until today.

There have been lots of weddings, funerals, common voluntary working days, anniversaries, birthdays in Kihnu. He has been photographing all of these events as much as he could, and lately he has also gone around with a video camera.

Jaan Rõõmus has thousands of pictures of witch about 10 exhibitions have been compiled. He has had exhibitions in Tallinn, Riga, and Finland, in South-Karelia photo center. This particular exhibition- “Extraordinary Kihnu” is the first time these pictures are exhibited.
